In short
An AI life coach is software that helps you set and follow through on personal goals outside your job description, such as learning an instrument or writing a book. It breaks the goal into monthly milestones, gives you a few tasks each week, runs a weekly review and adjusts the plan when life gets in the way.
Personal goals fail on rhythm, not on motivation
Most personal goals start with energy in January and fade by March. The cause is rarely a lack of willpower. Personal projects have no manager, no deadline and no meeting where someone asks how it is going, so they lose every contest with work and family logistics. A goal without a weekly slot in your calendar is a hope.
Sol works on that structure. The goal stays yours and the pace stays realistic, but every week has a small number of concrete tasks, a time to do them and a check-in afterwards.
What kind of goals an AI life coach handles well
Sol is strongest with goals that have a visible result and need regular practice or steps over several months. You set one goal on the Personal plan, or up to five on Pro if you want to run a personal project next to a career goal.
| Goal | Horizon | First milestone | A typical weekly task |
|---|---|---|---|
| Play five songs on the piano | 6 months | Daily 20 minute practice slot, first song learned | Three sessions logged, record one take |
| Write the first draft of a novel | 12 months | Outline and 10,000 words | Two writing blocks of 90 minutes, 3,000 words total |
| Move to another country for work | 12 months | Budget, visa route and shortlist of cities | Read the official visa page, update the budget sheet |
| Read 24 books this year | 12 months | Reading list and a fixed reading hour | Finish one third of the current book |
| Launch a small side project | 6 months | Scope fits in 5 hours a week | One evening block, one public update |
The weekly review keeps the plan honest
The core method Sol uses is the weekly review: a short look back at what happened, what got in the way and what the next week should contain. It takes about 15 minutes. On Friday you get a check-in email during your usual hours, answer a few questions, and Sol rewrites next week from your answers instead of repeating a plan that already failed once.
Two more tools from productivity practice support it. Time blocking puts each task into a specific slot so it competes fairly with everything else in your calendar. OKRs for one person turn a fuzzy aim into one objective and two or three measurable key results, such as "first draft finished" measured by word count and by chapters completed.
- Look back. Which tasks were done, which slipped and why.
- Clear the deck. What can be dropped or moved, so next week is realistic.
- Plan the blocks. Exact times for the two or three tasks that matter most.
- One small win. The task that would make you feel the week counted.
When a month goes badly, the plan changes instead of you quitting
Missed tasks are information, not failure. If two check-ins in a row show the same task slipping, Sol asks what is really in the way: the slot is wrong, the task is too big, or the goal no longer matters as much. The answer changes the plan. Sometimes the right move is a smaller milestone, sometimes a different time of day, and sometimes an honest decision to pause the goal and pick it up later.
Once a month the roadmap is corrected from your actual progress. Your dashboard shows the weekly score, your streak and milestone completion, so you can see the trend rather than judging yourself on one bad week.
An AI life coach is not therapy
Sol is a coach for goals and habits. He is not a therapist, counsellor or medical professional and does not diagnose, treat or advise on mental or physical health. If a goal touches health, money or legal matters, he helps you plan the steps and suggests you get qualified advice for the decisions themselves.
If you are in crisis, feel unsafe or are thinking about harming yourself, do not use a coaching app. Contact your local emergency services straight away, or a crisis line in your country.
Plans for personal goals
Most people with one personal goal choose Personal: 24 USD a month billed yearly (288 USD per year) or 49 USD month to month. It includes two coaches of your choice, one active goal, 300 messages a month with up to 15 a day, 10 reviews of files you upload, long term memory, weekly tasks and check-ins. Pro, at 49 USD a month billed yearly, adds all nine coaches and up to five goals. Usage counters are monthly, and deleting a goal or a file does not return anything to the allowance. See the pricing page for every detail.
If your personal goal is really about work, such as a new job or a promotion, Jonah, the AI career coach, is the better fit. For a stricter system around focus and time at work, see the AI productivity coach page, and for learning a language, Lucas, the AI language mentor.

Questions about the AI life coach
What is the difference between an AI life coach and a therapist?
A coach helps you plan and follow through on goals. A therapist is a licensed professional who treats mental health conditions. Sol does the first and never the second. If you are struggling with your mental health, please speak to a qualified professional, and in a crisis contact local emergency services.
Can I use it for fitness or diet goals?
Sol can help you schedule and track a routine you have chosen, but he does not create exercise or nutrition programmes and does not give health advice. For anything that affects your health, follow guidance from a qualified professional.
How much time does it take each week?
Plan on 15 minutes for the weekly review and a short reply to the Friday check-in. The tasks themselves take whatever time your goal needs, which is part of what you agree on in the first session.
What if I want to change my goal?
You can close a goal and start a new one at any time. The new goal gets its own assessment and roadmap. Monthly counters stay as they are, since a closed goal does not return usage.
Is my personal information private?
Your sessions are used only to coach you, and nobody else sees them on a personal plan. More detail is on the security page and in the privacy policy.
Why is Sol the coach for personal goals?
Sol's methods, the weekly review, time blocking and personal OKRs, are the ones that hold any long personal project together. You can still pick another coach if the goal is specific to their field.
