How it works

How AI mentoring works, week after week

AI mentoring on AiMentoring is one loop of nine steps. It begins with a sentence about what you want and keeps going every week until the goal is reached, with your mentor adjusting the plan as your results come in.

It starts with one goal in your own words

You write the goal the way you would say it to a friend, for example "Become Head of Sales in 12 months" or "Pass a senior backend interview by March". Then you choose a horizon of 3, 6 or 12 months and say where you stand today: starting out, some experience or experienced. The horizon matters because it sets the size of each monthly milestone. A 3 month goal gets three tight steps; a 12 month goal gets a longer arc with room for setbacks.

Your mentor is suggested from the goal text. You can accept it or pick another one, and on Pro you can run up to five goals at once, each with its own mentor.

The assessment measures where you really stand

Next come 8 to 12 adaptive questions. They change based on your answers, so a senior engineer and a career switcher see different follow-ups. The result is a skill radar that scores each skill of the domain from 0 to 5. For a sales goal that might be discovery, deal strategy, forecasting, negotiation and coaching others. The radar is your baseline, and every later score is measured against it.

The roadmap gives every month a job

From the goal, horizon and radar your mentor drafts a roadmap of monthly milestones. Each milestone lists the skills it builds, the outcome that proves it and the evidence to collect.

Month Milestone Evidence to collect
1 Run a repeatable discovery process Two call transcripts reviewed with every MEDDICC criterion covered
2 Forecast your own pipeline within a small margin Four weekly forecasts compared with actual results
3 Coach one peer through a deal Notes from two deal reviews you led
03

Weekly tasks turn the milestone into this week

Each week brings 3 to 5 concrete tasks with due dates, sized to the hours you said you have. A task names the action and the result, such as "Rewrite your discovery questions with SPIN, eight at most, by Wednesday". On Friday you receive a check-in email inside your business hours. It asks what got done and what got in the way, and your answers feed the next week.

Sessions and memory keep the thread

Whenever you need to think something through, open a session and talk to your mentor in chat. Prepare for a difficult 1:1, debrief a lost deal, plan a launch. When the session ends, your mentor writes short structured notes in four kinds: facts, wins, blockers and preferences. Those notes open the next session, so you never explain your situation twice. You can read the notes in the panel and delete any that are wrong.

04

Your real work gets reviewed against a rubric

Material review is where skills move fastest. Upload a pitch deck, a CV, a call transcript, a code snippet or an essay. Your mentor comments inline, point by point, against the rubric of its framework: MEDDICC elements for a sales call, situation, task, action and result for an interview answer, readability and failure handling for code. Personal includes 10 reviews a month with files up to 10 MB, Pro 30 reviews with files up to 25 MB.

Progress is measured, not guessed

Your dashboard shows a weekly score, your streak, milestone completion and how the skill radar has moved since the assessment. On Pro you also get a monthly progress report as a PDF and can export the plan.

05

Missed weeks lead to a better plan, not a lecture

Plans meet real calendars. When tasks slip, your mentor sends a short check-in that asks what happened: too little time, a blocker, a change of priorities. Then it shrinks the task, moves it or changes it. Once a month the mentor runs a plan correction from your progress data and rewrites the next milestones, so the roadmap stays honest about where you are.

Signal What your mentor does
Two missed weeks in a row Cuts the weekly load and asks about your real hours
A skill score that does not move Adds drills or a review task on that skill
A milestone finished early Pulls the next one forward
A change of goal or role Rebuilds the roadmap from a fresh assessment
