In short
An AI marketing mentor is software that coaches a marketer or founder through positioning, channel choice and measurement with a written plan. It works through a positioning canvas, diagnoses the weakest stage of your funnel from real numbers, builds a content calendar, reviews pages and emails against a rubric and follows up on weekly tasks.
Positioning comes first, because every message depends on it
When messaging feels weak, the cause is usually upstream. Iris begins with a positioning canvas and works through it with you one block at a time: the competitive alternatives your buyer would use if you did not exist, the attributes only you have, the value those attributes create, the segment that cares most about that value, and the market category that makes the value obvious.
The canvas is filled from evidence, not brainstorming. She asks for the last five deals you won and lost, the words customers used, and the tools they replaced. A finished canvas becomes the source for your homepage headline, sales talk track and ad copy, so the same story appears everywhere.
| Canvas block | Question Iris asks | Where it shows up later |
|---|---|---|
| Competitive alternatives | What would the buyer do today without you? | Comparison pages, objection answers |
| Unique attributes | What can you do that those alternatives cannot? | Feature sections, product demos |
| Value | What does each attribute let the buyer achieve? | Headlines, email subject lines |
| Best-fit segment | Who feels that value most strongly? | Targeting, list building, ad audiences |
| Market category | What frame makes the value obvious? | Page titles, how you introduce the product |
Funnel metrics show where the next dollar should go
Iris asks for the numbers at each stage of your funnel and finds the biggest leak. Here is an example: 20,000 monthly visitors, 2 percent converting to sign-ups gives 400, a 10 percent activation rate gives 40 active accounts, and 25 percent of those paying gives 10 new customers. Raising activation from 10 to 20 percent doubles new customers without a single extra visitor, which is cheaper than doubling traffic.
Once the weak stage is clear, the week is built around it. If activation is the leak, tasks focus on onboarding emails and the first-run experience. If traffic is the leak, tasks focus on one channel tested properly rather than five channels touched lightly.
- Stage conversion. Visitor to sign-up, sign-up to activation, activation to paid, paid to retained.
- Channel view. Which source brings visitors who actually activate, not only the most visitors.
- Experiment log. Each test with a hypothesis, the metric it should move and the result.
A content calendar tied to the buyer's questions
A calendar full of posts nobody needed is a common waste of a quarter. Iris builds the calendar from the questions your best-fit segment asks at each stage: what the problem costs, how to compare options, how to justify the purchase internally. Each piece gets a goal, a format, a distribution plan and the funnel metric it should influence.
A typical month from Iris contains two in-depth articles, one comparison page, one customer-style worked example, a short email sequence and four social posts repurposed from the longer pieces. She keeps the plan small enough to finish, and the Friday check-in asks what shipped and what it did.
| Week | Main piece | Distribution | Metric to watch |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Guide on the cost of the problem | Newsletter, two social posts | Sign-ups from the guide |
| 2 | Comparison with the main alternative | Sales team, paid search test | Demo-to-paid conversion |
| 3 | Worked example with real arithmetic | Email to trial accounts | Activation rate |
| 4 | Onboarding email rewrite | Product emails | Week one retention |
Upload the page, the email or the ad and get a rubric score
Material review is where Iris earns her place. Upload a landing page export, an email sequence, an ad set or a messaging document and she comments inline. The rubric checks whether the headline states value for a specific buyer, whether the first screen answers what it is and who it is for, whether proof is concrete and verifiable, whether there is one clear call to action, and whether the copy matches the positioning canvas you agreed.
Each review ends with a score per rubric line and the two changes worth making first. Personal includes 10 reviews a month with files up to 10 MB, and Pro includes 30 reviews with files up to 25 MB. Counters are monthly and visible in your panel, and removing a file does not restore the review it used.
Who Iris is for, and what stays your job
Iris fits marketing managers who want a sparring partner, solo marketers at small companies, founders who own growth themselves and specialists moving into a broader role. Founders often pair her with Theo, the AI startup mentor, and marketers aiming for a head of marketing role add Jonah, the AI career coach, to build the promotion case.
She is a fictional AI persona built on widely used marketing methods. She does not run your ad accounts, publish content or access your analytics tools. You bring the numbers and the drafts, and she makes sure the plan is coherent and the work gets reviewed before it goes out.

Questions about the AI marketing mentor
Will Iris write my marketing copy?
She drafts examples and rewrites when you ask, but the main value is review and planning. You stay the author, and her comments explain why a line works or does not, so your own writing improves.
Does the AI marketing mentor connect to my analytics?
No. You type or paste the numbers, or upload an export as a file. That keeps setup short and means no account access is shared.
Is this for B2B or consumer marketing?
Both. The positioning canvas and funnel model work for either. Tell her your model in the first session and the rubric adapts, for example longer sales cycles for B2B or repeat purchase for consumer products.
How is this different from a marketing course?
A course teaches the framework once. Iris applies it to your page, your funnel and your calendar every week and checks whether the tasks happened.
What happens when I reach my monthly limit?
You see the counters in the panel and get a prompt at 80 percent. When a counter is used up, it resets with the next monthly period, or you can upgrade from Personal to Pro.
Can I cancel?
Yes, any time. Access continues to the end of the paid period. Payments already made are final, as described in the refund policy.
